1、 Laws, regulations and health standards

China has promulgated and implemented more than 30 hygiene standards and methods for food contact materials and products, covering plastic, food grade coatings, metal products, ceramics, enamel, glass, paper and other materials.

2、 Test items

Generally speaking, the testing items stipulated in the hygienic standards for food contact materials in China generally include the following categories:

1) Evaporation residue in different food simulants

2) Potassium permanganate consumption

3) Heavy metals (as lead)

4) Decolorization test

5) Dissolution test of heavy metals: such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, nickel, etc.

6) Toxic and harmful monomer residues: such as vinyl chloride monomer, acrylonitrile monomer, etc

7) Microbiological testing
